Reading Hour for Seniors: Experience Stories and Music Together

Stories in the Ear, Music in the Heart: A Soothing Afternoon for Seniors

On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, the Mobile Library Mainz e.V. invites you to a reading hour for seniors at St. Bonifaz Church. Under the motto Stories in the Ear – Music in the Heart, the focus is on comforting stories about music and dance. The afternoon combines literature, familiar melodies, and personal memories into a valuable community experience.

Reading, Listening, and Sharing Memories

Selected stories tell of songs and melodies, of dance, joy of life, and special encounters. Familiar themes create a relaxed atmosphere and invite sharing one's own memories of music, festivities, and shared moments. Listening, singing along, participating, and personal exchange have their place in this age-appropriate format.

Social Participation and Wellbeing

The reading hour offers seniors a calm, community framework for social contacts and cultural participation. Stories and music appeal to different senses, promote remembering, and provide a sense of security. The approximately one-hour event of the Mobile Library Mainz connects literature, conversation, and small movement impulses into a senior-friendly experience.

Well Accessible in Mainz

St. Bonifaz is located in close proximity to Mainz Central Station and is therefore well accessible by public transport. Access to the church and the meeting room is possible for wheelchair users. Parking is only available in limited capacity directly at the parish center; parking garages near the station and in the Bonifaz Towers offer alternatives.

Conclusion: Experiencing Beautiful Memories Together

The reading hour provides time for familiar sounds, touching stories, and warm encounters. Anyone wishing to experience music and literature in pleasant company will find a valuable community experience for body, mind, and wellbeing here. Registration with the respective organizer is recommended.
