Tingvall Trio brings Nordic jazz to Mainz with PAX
On May 30, 2027, the Tingvall Trio will perform its program PAX at the Frankfurter Hof Mainz. Starting at 19:00, melodic piano trio jazz meets powerful rhythms, European tones, and a concert concept that combines musical energy with a message for peace.
Melodies with breadth and emotional depth
Since its founding in 2003, the Tingvall Trio has developed into a defining ensemble in the European jazz scene. Martin Tingvall on piano, Omar Rodriguez Calvo on double bass, and Jürgen Spiegel on drums combine Scandinavian melodiousness with Latin American warmth, driving groove, and a strong connection to rock music.
PAX: Between calm, tension, and awakening
The current program is based on the album PAX. The title stands for peace and inner calm in a time of social unrest. Pieces like A New Hope, Shadows, A Promise, and The End navigate through a range of touching ballads, dynamic orchestration, and precise rhythmic synchronization.
A trio with award-winning sound
Eight productions of the ensemble have been awarded the Jazz Award in Gold, and one received Platinum. The album Birds reached number one in the German Jazz Charts. PAX also ties into the trio's successful discography and showcases an ensemble whose stage performance thrives on clear communication, intense conducting from the moment, and great stylistic sovereignty.
Live atmosphere at the Frankfurter Hof
The Frankfurter Hof is located in Mainz's old town and offers the perfect setting for a concert that thrives on closeness and acoustic presence. Between piano strikes, springy bass, and powerfully set drumming impulses, an audience atmosphere is created that allows for intimate jazz moments as well as energetic outbursts.
Conclusion: Experience jazz live
The Tingvall Trio promises a multifaceted concert experience in Mainz that merges Nordic clarity, rhythmic drive, and emotional depth. Anyone wishing to experience modern piano trio jazz with strong melodies and a clear message should mark May 30, 2027, and discover PAX live at the Frankfurter Hof.
