MAYBEBOP brings the Christmas magic to life
On December 4, 2027, MAYBEBOP transforms the Rheingoldhalle Mainz into a stage for surprising Christmas music, virtuosic a cappella art, and sharp humor. The program Beautiful Illusion combines four voices, four microphones, and a festive live atmosphere that reinterprets classic Christmas sounds with modern breaks.
Four voices, an extraordinary stage sound
Jan Bürger on countertenor, Lukas Teske with tenor and beatbox, Oliver Gies on baritone, and Christoph Hiller on bass create the characteristic MAYBEBOP sound completely without an instrumental band. Precise synchronization, sophisticated orchestration, and dynamic vocal direction make every note a small sound event.
Christmas classics meet surprising perspectives
Beautiful Illusion reinterprets well-known pieces like Carol of the Bells, The Night Has Fallen, and Heidschi Bumbeidschi. In addition, there are original German songs that humorously, thoughtfully, and with a fine sense for musical details reflect on the festival of festivals.
Between tango, folk-rock, and German rap
The tragicomic tango The Death of Santa Claus and the touching What I Possessed create emotional contrasts. With the energetic folk-rock The Ballad of Fanta Claus, the cheeky Evergreen, and the German rap parody KNG of LightZ, MAYBEBOP showcases its stylistic versatility. The stage show complements the singing with sophisticated light and sound direction as well as a charming video performance.
Live experience at the Rheingoldhalle Mainz
Doors open at 7:00 PM, the concert starts at 8:00 PM. In the Rheingoldhalle, clear a cappella sound, warm Christmas atmosphere, and the immediate audience vibe of a grand concert evening come together. A mandatory coat check is provided; the coat check fee is 2.00 Euros.
