Jazz Vibrations 8: Two Voices, an Acoustic Dialogue
On November 12, 2026, two musical companions will meet at the Institut français Mainz: Christoph Heimbach and Leandro Hernández Waber will present acoustic duo jazz in its most concentrated form. The event starts at 19:30.
Interim Tones Instead of Sound Walls
In the maximally transparent line-up of a purely acoustic duo, space is created for every detail. Saxophone and piano respond to one another immediately, picking up musical impulses and transforming them into a lively dialogue. The music does not follow a rigid framework but develops from the moment.
Original Compositions and Selected Jazz Repertoire
Christoph Heimbach and Leandro Hernández Waber play original compositions as well as selected pieces by other musicians. Their program combines melodic curiosity, harmonic openness, and the freedom of improvised passages. Each phrase carries weight, and each pause becomes part of the musical dramaturgy.
Acoustic Jazz with Personal Touch
Heimbach and Waber have been connected in the Mainz music scene for several years in various line-ups. Previous joint projects have taken them through contemporary straight-ahead jazz, swinging grooves, and colorful harmonies. In the duo, direct communication comes especially to the forefront: orchestration, dynamics, and synchronization develop live between the two musicians.
Concert Experience at Institut français Mainz
The intimate atmosphere of the Institut français creates ideal conditions for a concert where presence matters more than volume. A nuanced sound, sensitive stage performance, and the immediate audience mood make this evening a special encounter with modern acoustic jazz.
Jazz Vibrations 8 promises a concentrated concert experience full of interim tones, musical openness, and spontaneous twists. Anyone who wants to experience jazz as a personal dialogue should witness this evening live in Mainz.
