Iskander Moon brings cinematic indie pop to Schick Mainz
On Monday, November 30, 2026, Schick Mainz will transform into an intimate concert venue for Iskander Moon. As part of the Klein Aber Schick series, the Belgian singer-songwriter will present his atmospheric solo project with free admission. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the concert starts at 8:30 PM.
Between Soul, Alternative Pop, and Classical Depth
Iskander Moon combines warm tenor voices with cinematic soundscapes, intense ballads, and anthemic choruses. His music moves between indie pop, alternative, and soul, supported by careful orchestration and a strong compositional signature. Influences from Bach and Debussy meet modern songwriting traditions and the emotional directness of Paolo Nutini, Sufjan Stevens, and Coldplay.
Salt Moon City as a Musical Journey
After the debut single Saturday Silence and the acclaimed EP Are You Lost Here?, the long-awaited debut album Salt Moon City follows. The songs originated in various locations such as Berlin, New York, and Florence, reflecting a restless lifestyle between departure, homesickness, and new beginnings. Rich string and brass arrangements give the album a cinematic expanse, while the personal lyrics maintain the core.
An Artist with Classical Training
Behind Iskander Moon is the Belgian musician Iskander Moens. He studied classical piano, toured Europe as a teenager with the choir ensemble Collegium Vocale Gent, and completed a master's degree in music production. In addition to his solo career, he works as a producer, songwriter, and session musician for various artists.
Live Atmosphere at Schick
The concert series Klein Aber Schick stands for selected live music in an intimate club atmosphere. Schick, located on Kaiserstraße, provides the perfect setting for a stage performance where fine dynamics, direct sound, and audience proximity are at the center. Iskander Moon's concerts lead through his musical universe, navigating between fragile moments, intense stage energy, and great emotional tensions.
