Christmas-Mix: Choral Sounds for the 2nd Advent in Mainz-Laubenheim
On Sunday, December 6, 2026, the Laubenheim Singing Society invites you to the Christmas concert Christmas-Mix at the Catholic parish church of Mariä Heimsuchung. Together with the singing group of the Protestant congregation Laubenheim and the women's choir BarberKadabra, a versatile choral concert arises between festive tradition and modern sound language.
From Pop to Classical, from Swing to Barbershop
The program connects cheerful and reflective choral music with different musical colors. Pop meets classical, traditional Christmas sounds encounter modern arrangements, while swing and barbershop provide additional rhythmic accents. The varied orchestration of the voices promises a multifaceted sound with clear harmonies, warm soundscapes, and precise synchronization.
Festive Live Atmosphere in the Parish Church
The Catholic parish church of Mariä Heimsuchung forms the atmospheric framework for the concert. In the sacred acoustics, the voices have space for bright heights, carrying melodies, and resonating final chords. The special connection of church space, choral singing, and Advent atmosphere makes the Christmas-Mix a musical concert experience for all generations.
Three Choir Communities, One Joint Concert Evening
The singing association 1844/71 Mainz-Laubenheim is a traditional choral society with a men's choir and a modern heartChor. At Christmas-Mix, the musical perspectives of the singing association, the singing group of the Protestant congregation Laubenheim, and the women's choir BarberKadabra come together. The concert evening thus brings together different choral traditions in a festive program.
An Advent Concert with Musical Diversity
The concert connects to the regular Advent work of the Laubenheim Singing Association. The association announced the Advent concert on St. Nicholas Day as the musical highlight of the year 2026. Visitors can expect a mix of Christmas calm, lively swing, modern pop moments, and classical choral culture.
