Brass Matinee Trumpet & Trombone: Sound Colors in the Morning
On Sunday, January 10, 2027, the University of Music at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz invites you to a festive brass matinee in the Red Hall. Students from the trumpet class of Lajos Rezmüves and the trombone class of Jeroen Mentens, along with Polina Grishaeva on piano, will present a concert program that explores radiant brass color, precise articulation, and chamber music sensitivity.
Trumpet and Trombone in Musical Dialogue
The two brass instruments come together in a strikingly characteristic way: The trumpet delivers bright, focused sound impulses, while the trombone responds with warm volume and pronounced depth. In their collaboration, a varied orchestration emerges, driven by breath control, synchronization, and nuanced stage performance.
Students Showcase Musical Profile
The matinee offers young musicians a concentrated platform where technical precision and personal expression converge. The program connects the sound power of the brass players with the tonal agility of the piano, transforming the Red Hall into a space for immediate live atmosphere and intense audience engagement.
Piano Accompaniment with Clear Sense of Color
Polina Grishaeva enriches the brass voices on the piano, creating a harmonious framework for the musical dialogues. Between radiant fanfares, singing lines, and rhythmic tension, a concert experience emerges that makes the versatility of trumpet and trombone audible.
Conclusion: A Soundful Matinee in Mainz
The Brass Matinee Trumpet & Trombone promises a focused concert morning featuring young talents, distinctive brass colors, and finely tuned piano play.
