Advent Choral Sounds with Cant' Allegro in Mainz-Weisenau
On Sunday, December 6, 2026, the Weisenau choir Cant' Allegro invites you to a festive Advent concert at the Protestant Church Mainz-Weisenau. From 5 to 7 PM, the ensemble blends contemplative Christmas sounds with joyful moments and invites the audience to sing along to familiar melodies.
Between Contemplation and Musical Joy
The live atmosphere of a church gives the Advent concert a unique sound quality. Voices unfold in the church's acoustics while familiar melodies create a warm connection between the choir and the audience. Cant' Allegro designs the evening as a musical introduction to the Christmas season - calm, festive, and full of movement.
A Choir with Groove and Stylistic Diversity
Cant'Allegro is the pop and jazz choir of the Singing Association Einigkeit Mainz-Weisenau. The repertoire ranges from pop and jazz to swing, soul, gospel, and hits. Under the direction of Julius Wingerter, the choir focuses on modern choral arrangements, precise synchronization, and a lively stage performance. This stylistic openness also shapes the musical identity of the ensemble.
Sing Together in Advent
The concert does not rely solely on listening: the audience is explicitly invited to sing along with well-known Christmas melodies. This creates a shared concert experience where the choir, church space, and visitors come together as one large sound body. The mix of festive orchestration, clear harmonies, and communal singing makes the evening a special event in the Mainz Advent season.
Conclusion: A Musical Evening for the Advent Season
Visitors can expect a varied Advent concert with Cant' Allegro, atmospheric church acoustics, and familiar melodies ranging from contemplative to joyful. Those who wish to musically tune into Christmas in Mainz and experience the unifying power of choral singing should enjoy this evening live at the Protestant Church Mainz-Weisenau.
