Ralph Ruthe brings Mainz to laughter
When a cartoonist takes the stage, question marks usually arise at first. With Ralph Ruthe, they disappear at the latest after the first punchline. With Ruthe Live - SHIT HAPPENS - THE (NEW) SHOW, Germany's successful cartoonist comes to the Frankfurter Hof Mainz on December 10, 2026, combining stand-up, cartoon comedy, animation, music, and pointed observations into a special laughing experience.
Cartoons come to life
Ralph Ruthe shows that a joke picture is not bound to paper. His characters, absurd daily situations, and quirky ideas meet projections, animations, and a stage presence that turns little mishaps into great comedy moments. The timing is spot on, the punchlines come dry from around the corner, and the audience recognizes itself faster than they would like.
SHIT HAPPENS with a new stage factor
The multiple award-winning cartoon series SHIT HAPPENS! has been part of Ruthe's trademarks for years. For the new show, he translates his humor into a multimedia live format: readings, cartoons, music, and video sequences interlock. The result feels less like a classic comedy show and more like a perfectly timed short film evening, where the projector works as punchline-secure as the artist.
From MAD Magazine to the big stage
Ralph Ruthe began working early as a copywriter, writing for Captain Bluebear among others, and later illustrated for the German edition of MAD Magazine. For SHIT HAPPENS!, he received the Sondermann Prize of the Frankfurt Book Fair four times in a row from 2005 to 2008 in the cartoon category. His live shows tour across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, bringing together cartoon fans, stand-up audiences, and lovers of quirky animations.
Comedy atmosphere in the Frankfurter Hof
On Thursday, December 10, 2026, the performance at the Frankfurter Hof Mainz begins at 20:00. There, quick interaction, dry cabaret feel, and the special audience reaction converge, which arises when a hall laughs, marvels, and thinks simultaneously: This is exactly what my everyday life looks like - just hopefully not quite so embarrassing.
Conclusion: An evening for everyone who urgently needs a punchline in their everyday life
Ralph Ruthe delivers a fast-paced laughing experience with SHIT HAPPENS - THE (NEW) SHOW, blending cartoon, stand-up, and multimedia comedy. Anyone who knows his characters from the screen or books will experience them in Mainz with voice, timing, and stage energy. Secure tickets and experience the humor live before the next daily horror takes over the punchline again.
