Maxi Gstettenbauer tackles comedy minefield logic in Mainz

When comedy turns into a minefield, Maxi Gstettenbauer doesn’t come with a fine rapier, but rather with a chainsaw. On April 23, 2027, the stand-up comedian brings his program COMPLETELY ABSURD to the KUZ Cultural Center Mainz and targets societal rules, personal contradictions, and the mundane madness of everyday life.

Dark humor with an axe instead of kid gloves

Gstettenbauer’s humor is direct, biting, and self-ironic. Privileges, family life, sports avoidance, and the little absurdities of modern existence come under scrutiny. The comedian spares neither societal clichés nor himself. This creates the special comedy atmosphere: sharply observed, surprisingly intensified, and with punchlines that prefer to break through the wall rather than knock politely.

High tempo, precise timing, clear announcements

With his fast timing and striking stage presence, Maxi Gstettenbauer develops a stand-up evening that barely knows any downtime. The audience's reaction ideally follows in seconds: first a disbelieving smirk, then loud laughter, and finally the realization that the just-heard joke suspiciously resembles their own life. COMPLETELY ABSURD combines dark humor with a personal perspective and a hefty dose of interaction in the audience's minds.

From nerd comedian to multiple award-winning stage professional

Maxi Gstettenbauer has been active in the German comedy scene since 2009. The stand-up comedian, moderator, and podcaster from Straubing became known through TV formats like TV total, NightWash, Standup 3000, and Roast Battle. His awards include the jury prize of the big cabaret festival in 2016 and several comedy slam successes. His stage world connects nerd culture, everyday observation, and social satire into a unique laughter experience.
